Welcome to
Dragonfly Art
My name is Lisa, and this is my shop and website dedicated to my love of printmaking, paper and ink. You’ll find original linocut prints and cards, all drawn, carved and printed by me, alongside handmade notebooks, journals and sketchbooks.
Some of these books also feature original linocut prints, while I make others using beautiful handmade Japanese, English and Asian papers. Each listing shares information on the materials I use and, in the case of prints, a bit of information about what led me to create it.

Cards for all occasions
I love a card – whether that’s receiving them or sending them.
More personal than a text or email, quicker than a letter, they are the perfect way to let someone know that you’re thinking of them, celebrating with them or commemorating someone.
More about my work
Much of my work is inspired by a love of nature and the structural way that natural objects like leaves and flowers lend themselves to the process of relief printing. But my work is not exclusively nature-based. I make pieces that mean something to me personally or make me smile, in the hope that they will resonate with someone else too.
Take the Hands off my tsundoku print – this was inspired by my pile of unread books, as well as my love of words (tsundoku is the Japanese word for that unread pile). Or The Pup, which was inspired by the life-changing experience of sharing space with my first – completely mad and completely adorable – dog as an adult.
I make my books in small batches so that I don't disappear under a tower of them. This means a book is sometimes out of stock but coming back soon or available on request.
I also take book commissions, and have lots of paper options available that I can share with you. And we can discuss options like the type of spine you’d like (e.g. hardback or exposed). I can create simple linocut designs for covers – like this treble clef I made for a music book commission. Please note lead times for book commissions are longer. Do get in touch if you’re interested.
When not making prints or books, I am a writer, so do check out the Pull & Fold journal. Here I will share some of the commissions I’ve made for people, as well as diving into aspects of process and what I’m learning as I continue to develop my printmaking and bookbinding practice. I will also celebrate some of the other amazing makers out there, asking them about their process and passions.
